Released to Construction

It's not much but it is a sign of progression.
We have been allocated a site supervisor named Chris and we should hear from him in the coming days. It has been raining quite heavily the past few days so we won't get a start this week but hopefully next week we will see progress. I cannot wait!

I popped out to the land a couple of days ago and the only thing I saw on our land was two little ducks....... Hopefully they relocate to the abundance of vacant land nearby.

Pegged Out!

Well done Eden Brae - pegged out on schedule! Who would have thought four bits of wood with red paint could cause such excitement!

Final pre Peg out picture

I went to see the land this afternoon as I wanted one more pic before they peg it out on Friday. Taking it facing the sun probably not ideal but I do love the view

Thankfully for us, our land doesn't have anything much growing on it so we haven't had to worry about maintenance along the way which is good.  Our home will face east which means we will have great north western sun on our alfresco in the afternoons and the only windows/ doors facing west are the rumpus room and the laundry door.

So far, there are only two houses that have started ahead of us in our land release, one a couple of doors down from us and one in the street behind us.  I am sure before long they will be popping up quickly.

The land on my high side was recently sold with a definite profit. The original price I think was $330,000 and they had it on the market for offers above $385,000. Not a bad result considering they would have only started paying for it a couple of months ago. Now, I just have to hop the new buyers want to build a single story home as to protect my sunshine. Can't do anything about it, but it would be nice if it was single.

I have met via email my downside neighbours and they seem lovely which is good because bad neighbours would be awful!

Final Plans done!

Today our final plans were signed off and Eden Brae plan to peg out our land this Friday!

Needless to say, I am beyond excited. Only one other house has started in our land release so it will be good to get things moving. Also, with no neighbours the builders will have easy access to our land.I have been worried about builders dumping waste on our vacant  land but within a couple of weeks we should have site fencing up and that won't be a worry.

On Friday we also got the full approval for our loan and thankfully I didn't have to make any last minute cuts to the additions to our home. We have the money and the build can begin.

So, after peg out, Eden Brae has 20 working days to commence building. I am not sure what happens if they don't start by then.
